HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

In addition to eating I will enjoy reading about the history of Thanksgiving. Perhaps I will try to teach the grandkids about Thanksgiving. Among the things that might interest them are that there was an Indian present at the first Thanksgiving in 1621 who spoke fluent English. There were no pies or other desserts at the first Thanksgiving because they had no flour and other ingredients. Half the Pilgrims had passed away from hunger, scurvy, and cold since their arrival in America a year earlier. The local Indians assistance was critical both to the Pilgrims surviving their first winter in America and to their first bountiful harvest.

Most important I hope all of you have a great Holiday weekend.
